where it all started

My journey with nutrition began in high school, where my primary focus was on "staying healthy," which, at that time, meant maintaining a certain weight. What I was learning in school only further reinforced this notion, but little did I know that my restrictions were causing my body harm that I would discover much later in life.

After earning a Nutrition degree in 2015, I found myself uncertain about my career path, leading me to pursue a graduate degree in health promotion and public health education. During my graduate studies, I discovered my calling in maternal health and early childhood development. Completing my Dietetic Internship in 2018, I felt a strong connection to pediatrics and a potential future as a lactation consultant. However, as a new dietitian in a small town, I faced limited job opportunities and had to prioritize finding any position for my health insurance as I was newly engaged.

I started out in a small hospital as the only clinical dietitian. I will forever be grateful for this experience, the people I met along the way, and the drive that I felt to pursue my career goals.

"If every tiny flower wanted to be a rose, spring would lose it's loveliness and there would be no wildflowers."

how it’s going...

After 3 years of general clinical experience, I found a job listing for a pediatric hospital & took a leap of faith. I loved honing in on a specific area within the field of dietetics, but after 2 years I felt that I was being called to more. I loved working with the children and helping them grow and feel their best, but my heart was always drawn to the mommas. Some of them carried themselves better than others, but as I listened to them tell me about their child, I couldn’t help myself but wonder if they were caring for themselves properly too.

my own experience...

I’ve dealt with terrible menstrual cycles ever since they started, but I was always told “that’s how it is.” Fast forward 15 years, my husband and I decided to grow our family but we discovered that my hormones were not functioning as they should.

Through this process, we’ve developed an amazing medical team (NaPro technician & a holistic OBGYN), but I’ve relied on my own expertise to use nutrition, along with the medicine, to help facilitate whole body healing.

(A problem I would soon learn plagues many women.)

This opened my eyes to a huge need for women, and, experiencing it myself, I felt like there was not enough support in the traditional medicine world to address it. With my endless research on ways nutrition and lifestyle factors can be used to help support hormone balancing, I felt that I could not remain silent any longer.

I feel so blessed to have the professional and personal experiences that I’ve had to get me to this point in life, the calling within the calling. I desire to help women feel great in their own bodies so they can then care for their families with more energy and joy, or finally conceive that little miracle, or even be able to fully enjoy the life they are called to live.

The calling within the calling

I’ve heard countless women tell me that they’re constantly fatigued and cannot concentrate. Some of my patient’s moms even explain their problems with trying to conceive.

After all these years, I believe I’ve finally found my professional purpose & I cannot wait to walk alongside you to help you achieve your health goals and watch you flourish.
